Dorothy (Ferguson) Key, who was born in Virden, played for St. Vital Tigerettes when the team won Winnipeg intermediate championships in 1941 and 1942 and the senior A title in 1943. From 1945 to 1954 she was with the Rockford Peaches of the AAPGBL. A lead-off hitter with great speed, she played second base and centre field. Dorothy passed away in Rockford in 2003.
