In 1936 at age 16, Joe Shaddy started pitching senior softball with Stan Evans Style Shop. After a season in Bissett, he returned to Winnipeg and pitched in the Mercantile League. In 1944 and 1946, the right-handed orthodox chucker played a major role in Globelites winning the Western Canadian Fastball Championship and was league MVP in 1946. He also played outfield during his 13-year career. Joe and his Globelites team-mates will be inducted into the HOF in the team category in May 2005.
