From 1947-1955, Met Simenik’s teams won fourteen championships - seven league, five provincials and one Western Canadian. In their June 3, 1951 issue, Softball News reported him as ‘the best manager in The 20th. Century Softball League’. It noted Met had single-handedly ‘built the Northern Hotel dynasty’, and in their August 30 issue, highlighted him as ‘all-star manager for the 20th. Century All-Stars’. The News described him as a true sportsman, fair and honest with his players and the softball community. Met expected his players to excel, and excel they did.
